Of course I say yes, but there are many who say no. Thoughts? « Blog I have mixed feelings about this » 4 thoughts on “Imprimis” No, of course you can’t reason with religious people. Religion – faith – is by definition based on -feelings-. It’s based on -wishes- and -hopes-. The one thing it’s not based on is -reason-. Reply I would argue that your argument is is more feelings than reason in itself. I would argue that some non-religious people are just as religious (rigidly committed to their beliefs) as ‘religious’ people. Reply The big difference is that non-religious people base their “beliefs” on tangible evidence. You can bring facts to bear against their beliefs to prove them wrong. You can’t do that with the religious. Facts are irrelevant – only “faith” matters. How is that rational? How can you reason with someone who simply -believes- just because they feel like it? Reply I have been surfing online greater than 3 hours nowadays, yet I never discovered any fascinating article like yours. It is lovely value sufficient for me.
